The Emerging nanoscience Research Institute (EnRI) focuses its research on advanced materials, computational modelling & simulation and development of small-scale testing and materials characterization. We are looking for a Research Fellow who will be responsible for supporting both research activities and coordination efforts related to life cycle assessment (LCA) within a multidisciplinary sustainability program.
The successful candidate will support research and coordination efforts within a multidisciplinary sustainability program, focusing on life cycle assessment (LCA) to evaluate the environmental performance of established and emerging processes. This role includes designing and conducting cradle-to-gate and cradle-to-grave LCAs, building life cycle inventory (LCI) datasets, and integrating LCA insights into technology development and decision-making.
Key responsibilities:Include impact modeling, scenario analysis, data compilation, and technical documentation. Work closely with researchers, industry partners, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure robust sustainability metrics are embedded in process design.

Job Requirements:PhD in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Sustainability Science, or related field. Experience in conducting LCAs using ISO 14040/44 standards and LCA software (e.g., SimaPro, OpenLCA, GaBi). Strong knowledge of LCI databases (e.g., Ecoinvent, ELCD) and impact assessment methodologies (e.g., ReCiPe, TRACI). Demonstrated ability to compile, validate, and analyze complex environmental data from diverse sources. Excellent scientific writing skills with a track record of peer-reviewed publications. Effective communication and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teamwork. High attention to detail, organizational skills, and professional integrity.
