Job Description


A Research Fellow position is needed to join the Microbiome Medicine Laboratory at the LKC School of Medicine, Assoc Prof Sunny Wong\'s lab. Our mission is centered on exploring the role of microbiome in systemic diseases, and driving revolutionary discoveries that advance health and medicine. The candidate will join the team to undertake high quality research in microbiome medicine, in line with the overarching research strategy of the school.

Key responsibilities:

Undertake high quality research to plan, design, organize, and conduct scientific experiments in the areas of molecular biology, microbiology and microbiome medicine

Generate, analyze and communicate scientific data in a professional manner

Assist in the supervision of students, trainees and other laboratory personnel

Participate in all research-related activities in the team

Assist in formulating hypotheses and grant writing

Key competencies and qualifications:

PhD in microbiology, biomedical science, nutritional science, or a related discipline

Research experience preferably in the biology, biomedical or bioinformatic field

Hands-on experience with in vitro cell culture assays, molecular and cell biology techniques

Experiences with animal experimentation and bioinformatics will be considered favorably

Good oral and written communication skills

Ability to work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment

A record of productivity with scholarly, peer-reviewed publications
