The researcher will be resolving the operating challenges in low-inertia power grids consisting of inverter-based generations. The scope include the protection and control strategies for wind and solar generations under grid disturbances. Designs will need to be validated using numerical simulations and hardware experimentation. Applicants with experience and expertise in control theory, power electronics, and power systems are preferred. The nature of the work will be mainly software-based, and experimental tasks will be dealing with coding of DSP/FPGA. Developed solutions are expected to be communicated to scientific journals.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree (or have submitted Ph.D. thesis) in electrical engineering or related fields.
  • Expert in using power engineering software such as PSCAD, RSCAD, PowerFactory, etc.
