About the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT)
The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) in Singapore brings together physicists, computer scientists and engineers to do basic research on quantum physics and to build devices based on quantum phenomena. Experts in this new discipline of quantum technologies are applying their discoveries in computing, communications, and sensing.
CQT is hosted by the National University of Singapore. The Centre also has staff at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and the Singapore University of Technology and Design. The Centre is looking for a talented and driven Research Fellow to join the research group of Prof. Valerio Scarani ( . The group conducts theoretical research, specialising in foundational aspects, nonlocality and device-independent certification, quantum thermodynamics, and description of quantum devices.
We are specifically looking for a candidate to lead an original research project in a topic of interest for the group. A non-exhaustive list of possible topics includes: Bell nonlocality and certification of randomness, foundations of quantum cryptography, device-independent certification. Alongside with their CV and two reference letters, the candidates should submit a convincing research plan.
The position is initially available for 1 year, starting at latest on February 2026
Duties & Responsibilities
Leading a research project in theoretical quantum science or information.
Besides personal research work, this involves coordinating the work of students (Ph.D. and/or undergraduate) working on the topic.
