DESIGNATION : Research Fellow (2-year contract), School of Social Sciences

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Research Fellow will work closely with the PI (Principal Investigator) and Co-PI to manage and execute the data collection and analysis for the project and prepare the findings for integration into a larger program on disease mitigation. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting reviews of relevant literature
  • Participating in data collection efforts through interviews and focus group discussions
  • Liaising with and proactively managing a survey partner
  • Performing analyses of nationally representative survey data and summarizing main findings
  • Contributing to writing and leading on scientific papers and peer-reviewed articles; and
  • Contributing to the presentation and dissemination of the study findings to the larger project research team


QUALIFICATIONS
  • PhD in Urban Studies, Public Policy, Sociology or a closely related field
  • Excellent quantitative skills and experience with leading or managing nationally representative surveys Excellent qualitative research skills including qualitative data analysis (QDA) and familiarity with QDA software such as NVIVO or Dedoose
  • Knowledge of R a plus
  • An interest in urban health and urban sustainability issues
  • Experience working in (Southeast) Asia
  • Knowledge of the Singaporean context a plus
  • Demonstrably strong writing skills
  • Knowledge of Mandarin, Chinese dialects, Malay or Tamil a plus
