Conduct research on simulation modelling, optimization and analytics for port operations Develop simulation models to study port operations and logistics
Analyze data from simulation models to derive insights and recommendations for improving port operations
Work with a team of researchers and engineers to implement artificial intelligence algorithms for port operations
Collaborate with stakeholders in the industry to understand the practical challenges and opportunities in port operations
Manage research projects, including defining project scope, timelines, and budgets
Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences and workshops
Qualifications
PhD in computer science, operations research, industrial engineering or related field
Strong expertise in simulation modelling, including experience with simulation framework and software such as O2DES, simpy, FlexSim, AnyLogic, Simio, or Arena
Strong expertise in artificial intelligence, including experience with machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision
Understanding of port operations, including shipping, logistics, and supply chain management
Excellent analytical skills and ability to work with large datasets
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, C# or C++
Strong project management skills, including experience with defining project scope, timelines, and budgets
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
