The Wu Research Group in MSE at NTU is working on cutting-edge research and development in textile materials for personalized healthcare and sustainability. We develop functional fiber materials with specific photonic and electronic properties by polymer molecular engineering and fiber structure design. Together with advanced textile technology, machine learning, and life cycle assessment, we aim to create sustainable wearable systems to enhance human well-being.

We are looking for a Research Fellow to develop advanced thermoregulation textiles that integrate functional fibers for adaptive heat management. The role will focus on the design, fabrication, and characterization of thermoregulatory textile systems, contributing to NTU's mission of advancing sustainable materials solutions for energy efficiency and human well-being.
Key Responsibilities:Lead independent research projects and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Lead the design, fabrication, and testing of thermoregulation textiles integrating spectrum-engineered materials and functional fibers.
Develop experimental protocols and analysis methods for evaluating thermal performance under various conditions.
Configure and operate equipment for characterizing optical, thermal, and mechanical properties of textiles.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on interdisciplinary projects in smart textiles and sustainable materials.
Mentor students in textile fabrication, characterization, and data interpretation.
Assist in grant writing, lab maintenance, and procurement of consumables.
Prepare high-quality reports, publications, and presentations to communicate research outcomes.
Job Requirements:PhD degree in Materials Science, Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Strong hands-on experience in materials processing and fiber-based device integration.
Knowledge of mass and heat transfer is highly desirable.
Proficiency in thermal characterization techniques (e.g., IR thermography, emissivity measurement, thermal conductivity testing).
Experience with optical/thermal simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL Multiphysics or equivalent) will be an advantage.
Good written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated ability to produce high-quality publications and technical reports.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
Experience in mentoring students or junior researchers is preferred.
