Job Description


We are currently working with an inter-disciplinary architectural firm based in Singapore in search of a skilled Resident Technical Officer with experience in civil and structuring to join the team. This is a critical role in the construction and maintenance of buildings and infrastructure projects. The specific responsibilities and duties of an RTO may vary depending on the country and organization, but their primary role is to ensure that construction projects are carried out in accordance with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Site Supervision: Oversee all construction activities on-site, ensuring they comply with project plans and specifications. Conduct regular inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
- Quality Control: Ensure that construction work meets the required quality standards and specifications. Identify and report any non-compliance issues and work with the construction team to rectify them.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure that all work on-site complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. Keep up to date with industry regulations and standards.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of daily activities, reports, and progress updates. Prepare and review project documentation, including work orders, inspection reports, and change orders.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the client, project manager, and construction teams. Facilitate effective communication and resolve any issues that may arise during construction.
- Safety Management: Promote a culture of safety on the construction site, conducting safety briefings and ensuring that all safety measures are in place. Investigate and report any accidents or incidents and implement corrective actions.

Key Qualifications

- Bachelor\'s degree in Civil & Structural Drafting, Architectural or any related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Resident Technical Officer in construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Certification as a Resident Technical Officer (RTO) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using construction management software and tools.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and solve problems effectively.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
