Job Description

A major international law firm is seeking an Associate to join its Restructuring & Insolvency team in Singapore. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented lawyer to join one of the most globally integrated restructuring practices, advising leading financial institutions, corporates, and sponsors on complex cross-border matters across Asia and beyond.
The Role
Working within a highly regarded regional team, the successful candidate will advise on restructuring, insolvency, and capital solutions matters, often spanning multiple jurisdictions and industries. The work will involve advising stakeholders across the capital structure - including lenders, noteholders, corporates, and boards - on distressed situations, special situations financing, and recovery strategies.
Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on cross-border restructurings, insolvencies, and financing transactions.
• Work with senior lawyers to deliver strategic, commercial advice across a range of sectors including financial services, technology, energy, and aviation.
• Collaborate with colleagues across corporate, finance, and disputes teams to deliver fully integrated solutions.
• Draft and review complex legal documents with precision and attention to detail.
• Build client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer (England & Wales, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia or New York) with 2-3 years' PQE.
• Experience in restructuring and insolvency is preferred but not essential; lawyers with a finance background and a strong interest in R&I are encouraged to apply.
• Strong academic background and excellent technical, analytical, and drafting skills.
• Commercially minded, proactive, and collaborative with strong communication and organisational skills.
• Mandarin language ability would be advantageous, but is not required.
