Job Description

A Construction Hoist Rigger is responsible for assembling, operating, and maintaining hoisting and rigging systems used to lift and move materials, equipment, and workers safely on construction sites. The role ensures that lifting and hoisting operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with safety regulations.





Key Responsibilities:





Assist in the installation, setup, and dismantling of construction hoists, lifting gear, and rigging systems.





Attach, balance, and secure loads properly using slings, chains, hooks, and shackles.





Guide and signal crane or hoist operators during lifting and lowering operations.





Conduct pre-operation inspections of rigging tools, hoist equipment, and lifting accessories.





Monitor lifting operations to ensure safety and prevent overloading or imbalance.





Maintain good housekeeping and ensure the work area is hazard-free.





Report any faults, damages, or unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor.





Work closely with the Lifting Supervisor, Hoist Operator, and Safety Officer on site.





Ensure all lifting and rigging activities comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Regulations.





Perform routine maintenance of rigging equipment as required.





Requirements:





Minimum Education: Primary or Secondary education.





Mandatory Certificates (Singapore):





Rigger Course (Basic / Intermediate / Advanced) - MOM / BCA Approved





Apply Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) in Construction Sites (CSOC)





Work-at-Height Course (if applicable)





Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in lifting and rigging work in a construction environment.





Knowledge: Familiar with hoisting systems, lifting gear, and safety practices under WSH (Operations of Cranes) Regulations.





Skills:





Strong knowledge of rigging and hoisting techniques





Safety awareness and hazard identification





Teamwork and communication with operators and supervisors





Ability to estimate load weights and balance loads correctly





Use of lifting signals and hand gestures





Physical fitness and alertness





Problem-solving under pressure
