As a Risk Analysis Intern in Trust & Safety, you will become our eyes and ears, researching and analyzing trends, industry changes, and public sentiment that could impact our products. You will be an influential voice, providing insights into public opinion and policy development to further enhance users\' trust and safety.

It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role/as part of project/ in response to escalation requests/by chance. Some content viewed may violate our community guidelines which include but are not limited to bullying; hate speech; child abuse; sexual assault; torture; bestiality; self-harm; suicide; murder.

Successful candidates must be able to commit to the following internship cycles below: -
1. Off-cycle Internship - 31 July 2023 to 12 January 2024

We will prioritize candidates who are able to commit to the above internship period. Please state your availability clearly in your resume (Start date, End date).

Candidates can apply to a maximum of two positions and will be considered for jobs in the order you apply. What will I be doing?

• Monitor and analyze public perception towards company products through analyzing news articles and social media sites, using open source research and third-party social listening tools.
• Conduct investigations on key events in Oceania and Southeast Asia, for example: elections, local and international events
• Analyze and research social issues, online behaviours and archetypes to inform stakeholders of the risks towards Trust and Safety
• Produce internal reports that analyzes public perception of Trust and Safety issues routinely.
• Research and analyze various regulatory information including but not limited to legislation and law enforcement for cyber security, data privacy and social media regulations at both federal and state level in Oceania and Southeast Asia.

Qualifications
What should I bring with me?

• Undergraduate or graduate student with an educational concentration in Political Science, Journalism, Public Policy, Economics, International Relations, or a related field
• Strong in open-source research, and able to digest complex information and summarise it succinctly for stakeholders.
• Great communication skills and a strong sense of responsibility. Being able to deliver work quickly with high quality
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Being able to work at least 2 days or above per week. The internship duration is at least 3 months
• English proficiency is required and fluency in one or more Southeast Asian languages (e.g. Bahasa Malayu, Bahasa Indonesia, Thai, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Khmer, Burmese, etc.) is preferred as you will predominantly covering markets in Oceania and Southeast Asia and will need to read and digest information in these languages
