You will join our Environmental and Health Business Unit.
We invite you to bring your expertise into play as you contribute to delivering highly complex engineering and process safety consultancy solutions and services primarily in qualitative and quantitative risk analyses for the manufacturing industries. As our new Process Safety / Risk Consultant, you will be part of our larger multi-disciplinary MEAP Asia-Pacific region. Your role is based in Singapore where you will work within a cohesive Process safety / Risk team on a wide range of process safety and risk projects across multiple sectors. You will join our bright scientists and consultants to secure, manage and deliver complex engineering and process safety solution to our clients.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be to perform quantitative risk assessment (QRA) study for different types of manufacturing facilities primarily in Singapore. Working together with the process safety team in Singapore, the consultant will be involved in helping clients develop and/or improve their Safety Case as part of regulatory submission.

Emphasis is placed on quality of work produced and work efficiency. You report to an assigned senior consultant or manager for each project, who will establish clear expectations in terms of work tasks, quality and deliverables. Your duties will entail the provision of project execution, project delivery of engineering and process safety related services for our clients, including:

  • Interpreting data from piping & instrument diagrams (P&IDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), plot plans, safety data sheet (SDS) mechanical design information, typical unit operation specifications etc;
  • Collating and validation data using MS Excel;
  • Performing qualitative hazards identification of chemicals;
  • Performing frequency calculations using event tree; and
  • Performing dispersion calculations using industry standard modelling software

  • Degree in chemical engineering or equivalent with one (1) to three (3) years of consultancy, engineering and/or operations experience in the O&G industry. Fresh graduates are welcomed to apply.
  • Candidates with QRA and/or consultancy work experience will be strongly preferred, or candidates with process safety knowledge and experience (e.g. Process Hazard Analysis, Risk Analysis etc.).
  • Familiar with concepts of risk, consequence modelling and Singapore QRA guidelines and requirements.
  • Knowledge of offshore and/or onshore Safety Case regime is a plus.
  • Experience in using consequence modelling software (e.g. PHAST, Effects etc.) is a plus.
  • Good communication and language skills
  • Good presentation skills and business sense
  • Able to work independently and adapt to field work environment
