Job Scope :

a) Advise the Board (GM/PM or any other person authorised by the Board) on the measures to be taken in the interest of the safety and health of the persons employed therein.

b) Inspect the workplace personally to determine whether there are unsafe equipment, processes, conditions or behaviour in the workplace which has the potential to cause incidents or accidents to occur. The inspections shall also include environmental and occupational health safety issues. The frequency of the inspections shall be determined by the Board. The WSHO shall discuss findings of the inspections with the officer in charge and submit report on the findings and recommended actions to take within one week to the GM/PM or any other person authorised by the Board person in charge of the installation. The inspection report shall be reviewed and endorsed by the Contractor.

c) Carry out safety promotion activities that include safety training, talks, briefings and safety day to develop and maintain the interest of the persons employed in the workplace in establishing safe and healthy working conditions therein. The frequency of the activities shall be determined by the Board.

d) Advise the Board on the specifications for safety of:-

Any repair or alteration to be made to the workplace or any extension thereof, and

Any new machinery, plant, equipment or appliance to be installed in the workplace

e) Advise the Board on follow-up actions required to mitigate the risks of occupational disease

f) Advise the Board on the required records and documentations to file under the Act.

g) Ensure that all safety equipment at the workplace is safe to be used.

h) Be the Confined Space Safety Assessor as and when required by the installation.

i) Give briefings to contractors or visitors on general safety and hazards in the workplace.

j) Prepare and conduct safety induction training to all contractors before commencement of work in the installation

k) Conduct and review the risk assessments and safe work procedures to ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and related safety regulations

Working Days : Monday to Friday - 08.00 AM to 5.00 PM / 08.30 AM to 5.30 PM

Pay: $4,800.00 - $5,000.00 per month
