The Role

Are you a results focused individual interested in supporting the delivery of Shell Chemicals and Products’ P&Ls with our sales professionals? Are you interested in helping us be the trusted advisors for our customers by facilitating the right data at the right moment to ensure the best deals are closed? If you like working at interfaces between commercial, finance, supply, manufacturing, and our excellence organization, the Sales Analyst position is a highly impactful position supporting our sales professionals work more efficiently, whilst managing the functional interfaces to ensure smooth and effective ways of working. What’s the role? Shell Chemicals and Products is undergoing a number of changes with respect to our Transformation program.

• New tools and features facilitating more efficiency and above all, providing value adding data for the commercial and sales operation will continuously be rolled out.
• Understanding the data, supporting our sales professionals in the market, and aligning how these tools will add value for a specific business is very important. Short-term understanding of market dynamics, supporting pricing and volume decisions help us maximize opportunities in dynamic markets.
• Data interpretation and reporting specifically geared to one sales team and market has to be spot on in order to maximize both value creation and time spent with our customers.

Your key accountabilities include:

• Supporting customer negotiations with customer/market specific data for mandates.
• Developing relevant data representation and analysis geared to commercial management (e.g., Commercial Performance meetings), account managers negotiations and specific market needs.
• Together with transformation team and product owners, developing business specific ways of working and implement based on feedback of account managers.
• For new tools and features, improving data driven decision making and ways of working, provide understanding of specific business needs.
• Together with finance, analyzing business results and clarify with underlying market/business data.
• As a development opportunity, managing small or day-to-day activities for large accounts.

• Understanding of market fundamentals and commercial negotiation
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Passion for continuous improvement
• Affinity with analytical tools
• Ability to work cross functionally (Manufacturing, Supply, P&T, Sales) to grow differentiated products
