The

Salon Manager

is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the salon, ensuring a high-quality client experience, driving revenue growth, and leading and developing a skilled team of beauty professionals. This is a crucial leadership role that balances excellent customer service, strong business acumen, and effective team management.


Key Responsibilities


------------------------

Staff Management & Leadership



Recruit, hire, and onboard

new stylists, colorists, technicians, and front desk staff. Develop and manage

staff scheduling

to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency. Conduct

performance reviews

, provide ongoing coaching, and lead training sessions on technical skills, product knowledge, and customer service. Foster a

positive, collaborative, and professional work environment

that encourages staff retention and morale. Handle and resolve employee conflicts and disciplinary issues promptly and fairly.

Operations & Business Management



Manage daily

cash handling

, financial reconciliation, and process payroll information. Monitor and manage

inventory

of professional and retail products, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing waste. Oversee the

booking system

and ensure efficient handling of client appointments and walk-ins. Ensure the salon and all equipment are maintained, clean, and comply with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations. Analyze

sales data

and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.

Client Experience & Sales



Serve as the primary point of contact for complex

customer service issues

, ensuring swift and effective resolution to maintain client loyalty. Drive

retail sales

of salon products through staff training and promotional campaigns. Develop and implement

local marketing strategies

and client loyalty programs to attract new clients and retain existing ones. Maintain a beautiful, welcoming, and high-end atmosphere that aligns with the salon's brand.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Experience and Education



Minimum of

3-5 years of proven experience

in a management or supervisory role, preferably within a salon, spa, or high-end retail environment. A license in cosmetology or relevant field is a plus, but not required if management experience is extensive. Demonstrated ability to manage a team of 5+ employees.

Business Acumen:

Strong understanding of retail operations, budgeting, inventory control, and sales forecasting.

Leadership:

Exceptional coaching, mentoring, and team-building skills.

Communication:

Physical Requirements



Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. * Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary for the business.
