We are now seeking an experienced fragrance development talent to join our Scent Technology & Innovation (ST&I) Singapore team as Technical Manager.
How you will Lead and Contribute As Technical Manager, you will be designing and leading technical projects for the Body Care category. Your role includes internal creative support for fragrance/technology performance and stability as well as, external technical expertise demonstration for customer.
Partnering with Scent Design Managers, Perfumers and Sales team to create innovative fragrance solutions, you will put in place complex technical strategies to answer global customer briefs and ultimately win briefs. Developing new technical solutions in an agile way to satisfy customer and consumer needs, you will actively promote IFF tools and innovation capabilities, to build strong customer intimacy. Our ambition is to exceed our customer\xe2\x80\x99s technical expectations when introducing new products and formulations, to ensure IFF is seen as the most technically innovative Fragrance house. The Technical Manager will lead a team of senior and junior scientists.
Your Focus

• Deliver robust technical insights to support Global customers briefs for Body Care category.
• Lead strategic or tactical technical programs as defined by category strategy.
• Coordinate and communicate in partnership with Creative & Sales team on customer projects, demonstrations / promotions, and inquiries to provide solutions to customers.
• Have a legacy of technical creativity to develop technical plans that support project decision-making, category strategy, & customers propositions to highlight IFF product advantages.
• Utilize good communication skills, both written and oral, to make presentations to customers, internal colleagues and management. Organize and prepare comprehensive reports of technical plans, progress, and future work.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of IFF\xe2\x80\x99s leading edge technologies and ensure that existing opportunities using these technologies are fully exploited.
• Manage multiple, constantly changing priorities through organization and team-oriented leadership strategies to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner.
• Develop technical ability of staff members through monitoring/coaching, counselling, feedback and personal development plans.
• Ensure that resources are focused on meeting the objectives as set out and agreed by the business.
• Build impactful presentations deeply focused on specific customer needs, selecting relevant innovations, adapting, and strengthening claims and building relevant story telling.
• Create strong business relationships with customers based on trust and expertise.
  

Job Requirements

What you will need to be successful

• Master\xe2\x80\x99s or PhD in Science & Technology, Cosmetics, Perfumery, Chemistry or any other related discipline.
• Knowledgeable in Body Care applications, raw materials and chemical processes, with preferably a previous experience in Personal Wash/Hair Care formulations.
• Minimum 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the Consumer Goods or Ingredients Chemical industry, with a minimum of 3 to 6 years in Fragrance technical development role.
• Prior experience managing teams, including hiring, coaching and talent development.
• Track record in bringing new technology and innovation into a corporate environment.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast paced, competitive industry.
