Performing layout and design tasks
Providing advice on artistic direction, technical specifications and print media resource
Overseeing works on the Heritage Gallery that involves write-up, collection of ACS memorabilia and archival work.
The school publications are:
Echo (quarterly issue)
1. Edit Echo first draft.2. Vet and reflect changes by Advisor and Echo team upon receiving artwork.3. Check that all changes have been made before the draft is submitted to Blueskies.4. Request for the updated artwork each time a change is made.5. Confirm the final artwork for printing. * b) School Magazine (annual publication)1. Prepare pagination.2. Work closely with the School Magazine Committee to follow up on articles submitted and changes required.3. Provide professional advice to the School Magazine Committee on the school magazine specifications and artistic direction.4. Work closely with the vendor on artistic direction; design and layout of pages.5. Ensure articles and all required materials are ready to be submitted to the vendor according to the production timeline.6. Work closely with vendor to follow up on and ensure that required changes are accurately made throughout the proof-reading process.7. Ensure that final proofs are error-free and print-ready.Role Requirements:
Possess a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree, preferably in: English Language, publishing or publishing studies, or media or electronic media.
Able to use Microsoft-related software (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
A thorough knowledge of English Language
A methodical working style
Concentration, accuracy and great attention to detail
The ability to multi-task
Self-motivation
Good ICT skills
Have at least 5 years of experience in School Publications
Tact and diplomacy for negotiating changes with writers/ staff
The ability to keep to tight deadlines and adhere to work schedules
Location: 50 Barker RoadContract Duration: 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025Working Hours:
Mondays to Fridays: 7:00am to 7:00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break. (60 hours per month)
Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
