Johnson & Johnson Innovation is recruiting a Scientific Portfolio Engagement Lead of Johnson & Johnson Innovation JLABS. This growing team is looking for a colleague inspired to help build and innovate new ways of fostering a productive life-science ecosystem.JLABS (\xe2\x80\x9cJLABS\xe2\x80\x9d) is the external R&D engine of Johnson & Johnson, catalyzing a community of entrepreneurs in health, operating a network of life science incubators focusing and accelerating emerging through its development, and supporting the portfolio to successful partnering and funding.:The Scientific Portfolio Engagement Lead provides support to the Head of JLABS Singapore in all aspects building a world-class scientific/technology portfolio for the region.Key Responsibilities:Local Portfolio Management:o Assess progress and priority of local life science and medtech companieso Identify potential transformational technologies and shape emerging science to address unmet needso Evaluate new technologies and companies for entry into JLABS Singapore as well as coordinate all governance reviewso Support the Head Johnson & Johnson Innovation JLABS Singapore to build championship for the portfolio with internal and external partners, manage portfolio reporting, and information updates database systemso Collaborate across broader J&J Innovation (e.g., Innovation Centers and JJDC) to support opportunity sourcingo Collaborate with external partners, including other incubators to support opportunity sourcing and support for the regional life science ecosystemShaping the Local Scientific Ecosystem:o Foster local academic, biotech, government and healthcare agency collaboration and awarenesso Lead scientific community outreach programs to engage local community with JLABS Singaporeo Foster JLABS Singapore reputation as a science driven organization externally and internallyo Leverage external experts (KOLs) to ensure portfolio is cutting-edge, help evaluate potential opportunities using an external lens, and help influence company creation in strategic areas of interesto Identify partners who can play a role in company formationScientific Site Leadership:o In collaboration with the Head Johnson & Johnson Innovation JLABS Singapore and relevant partners, aid in portfolio selection, onboarding and business operational activitieso Mentor residents to ensure scientific milestones are accelerated and achieved and JPALS are appropriately matched to form impactful relationshipso Serve as scientific subject matter expertise for JLABS Singapore press, events, government visits and internal processeso Perform regular reviews and update on scientific programs of portfolio companiesData capture and insights via integration and access to portfolio management toolso Customize existing JLABS tools such as JLABS Navigator for Singaporeo Leverage the expansion of other tools, systems and platforms to capture and track innovation ecosystem for trendspotting, investment tracking and awareness.o Identify system enhancements or modifications.Collaborate across broader J&J IT to support such infrastructureQualifications\xc2\xb7 M.D./Ph.D. in a relevant life sciences/biomedical engineering field is required\xc2\xb7 5-8 years of broad MedTech and/or Pharma R&D experience, preferably across multiple therapeutic areas and/or technologies/platforms is required\xc2\xb7 Experience with startups for partnerships in industry to achieve milestones, alliance management, building fruitful partnerships with world-class KOLs, and working in an open innovation R&D capacity to leverage external opportunities for pipeline impact is preferred\xc2\xb7 Experience in creating and evaluating IP portfolios/strategies is required\xc2\xb7 Established track record working with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment and partnering with/managing stakeholders is required\xc2\xb7 Excellent leadership, influencing, and decision-making skills, proven ability to foster team productivity and cohesiveness, acting as a change agent, adapting to rapidly changing organization and business environments is required\xc2\xb7 This role is located in Singapore with up to 10% travel is required.The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be professional, organized and detail oriented. This is a team-oriented position that plays an integral role in facilitating processes and procedures. She/he will also demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal direction. We seek a self-motivated individual ready to take on the many functions.
