For more information, please visit www.thermofisher.com Job Responsibilities Perform laboratory specific methods, as listed below, on raw materials or finished products, media making, special projects or specified testing as directed:

• Set up and maintain bacteria culture and mammalian cell culture based on available SOP/ protocols
• Perform various microbiology, cell-based and biochemical/ molecular biology assays for various projects which may include and not limited to the following techniques:
  • Maintaining and culturing different microorganisms
  • Anti-microbial assays like MIC/MBC following SOPs or protocols
  • Nucleic acid extraction, qualification and quantitation
  • PCR/qPCR and gel electrophoresis
  • Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
  • Cell viability testing with spectrophotometric measurement
  • Extraction of biomolecules for further biological and bio-analytical testing.
  • Complete documentation through data recording and/or electronic notebook to ensure timely submission of test results
  • Support researchers and scientists in validation studies of the above experiments according to GLP requirements

Perform routine lab housekeeping which include the following:

• Conducting BOS audits
• Daily checks
• Laboratory inventory management (reagents and laboratory supplies) including but not limited to providing timely communication of purchase cycle, obtain quotes for review, following-up on deliveries and timely submission of delivery documents
• Waste management and disposal
• Administrative duties including but not limited to updating inventory & equipment database and order tracking sheets

Perform basic equipment maintenance which may include but not limited to the following:

• Equipment checks Equipment calibration and repair coordination
• Maintain equipment records/ logbooks to ensure required laboratory safety and quality standard is maintained.
• Gain direction from attached customer(s) and Site Supervisor on work assignments
• Conduct all assigned work in compliance with P&G safety and quality requirements
• Communicate immediately any product testing deviation equipment failures, or any other laboratory anomalies directly to customers and Site Leader
• Provide secondary support for absent Specialists in the team or when additional support is required.

Qualification and Criteria

• Possesses a Diploma in Science or related disciplines, microbiology background will be preferred

• A team player with out-going personality, a passion for research and is detail-oriented at work.

• Good organizational, communication and coordination skill to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed

• Possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software

• Having prior knowledge in Life Sciences (Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, biochemistry etc.) will be an advantage
