Summary The Section Manager, Group Planning plays a crucial role is ensuring a sustainable growth environment for the airline. This individual will support the development of a long-term fleet plan in collaboration with Network Planning and Singapore Airlines Group fleet planning functions to ensure that an appropriate fleet composition for the airline. This role will help to synthesize the inter-divisional inputs on matters of fleet planning, competitor airline benchmarking and aircraft procurement into comprehensive assessments spanning financial, technical, economic elements and make recommendations to executive management. This individual will also collaborate with HR to understand organisation personnel growth requirements in the context of long-term fleet expansion and corporate growth plans, and coordinate with SIA properties to ensure sufficient office space for staff.
Responsibilities:
Long Term Fleet Planning and Aircraft OEM management
Coordinate and support the development of the long term fleet plan taking into account both Scoot and Group level network growth plans
Work closely with Network Planning, Flight and Engineering departments, and Finance on aircraft related decisions and analyses \xe2\x80\x93 including aircraft orders, leasing decisions, retirements, configurations, etc.
Support in (re)negotiation and ongoing administration of contract terms with aircraft OEMs where necessary
Competitor Benchmarking
Adopt and modify SQ\'s competitor airline benchmarking parameters to purpose fit Scoot\'s LCC landscape
Identify and propose key LCC competitors to be tracked, included and excluded from benchmarking exercise on an ongoing basis
Conduct regular updates of airline benchmarking developments and provide insights on potential impact to Scoot\'s competitive position based on analysis of financial reports, industry reports and press releases
Properties Planning and Coordination
Develop and plan long term requirements for airline corporate office taking into account fleet expansion, corporate growth objectives and HR manpower plans
Represent Scoot\'s requirements with SIA properties contact point to ensure group level alignment and synergy
Coordinate relevant projects as required
Requirements:
Degree with a numerical discipline (Finance, Accounting, Business)
Broad knowledge of airline economics preferrable
4-6 years of experience in an analytical department in the airline/aviation sector (network planning e.g)
Expertise in quantitative analysis e.g. financial modelling and data manipulation
Fluent written, spoken and reading capability in English
Ability to construct and deliver clear presentations to senior company executives
Experience in analysing and quantifying complex strategic issues tied to long term business growth
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large-scale projects on an ongoing basis and adjust priorities, as necessary, to meet shifting deadlines in a dynamic work environment
Able to forge and maintain collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholder groups and different levels
