Purpose of the role

The Security Engineer function & role is to review, build, test, and implement security systems within the organization\'s IT eco-system.

The Security Engineer is expected to anticipate potential security risks, identify areas of weaknesses, and respond effectively to possible security breaches. The Security Engineer is also expected to have a thorough understanding of complex IT systems, and to stay up to date with the latest security standards and systems.

Role Attributes

Oversight and operation of Singlife\'s Security Engineering Program for the entire group under the Cyber Fusion Centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement protective measures through firewalls, web application firewalls, playbooks, software solutions, custom scripts, custom tools, and data encryption technologies
• Ensure continuous monitoring of network & IT security by conducting regular system tests and reviews
• Develop project timelines for ongoing information security system upgrades
• Review disaster recovery procedures and conduct breach of security drills
• Build and develop standards & procedures to supplement existing security policies or controls
• Identify security design gaps in existing and recommend enhancements
• Ensure that policies, processes and authority limits are updated, communicated and observed within business functions
• Assist incident management team to respond to high severity security incidents and provide mitigations with thorough post-event analysis
• Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable regulations in Singapore, including but not limited to those issued by the MAS and Singlife Group business standards and policies

Requirements

Experience

• IT/Computer Science graduate & CISSP/CISA/CSP/CISM (preferred / willing to get certified in 1 year)
• Preferable to have 5+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience

Additional Experience

• Firewalls, switches, intrusion detection/intrusion prevention systems, Web Application Firewalls, Azure Sentinel, proxy and EDR solution
• Some knowledge in programming in the use of Python, C++, Java, Ruby, Node, Go and/or PowerShell
• Familiar with Linux and Windows
• Exceptional communication skills with diverse audiences - Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
• Strong leadership, project, and team-building skills, including the ability to lead teams and drive projects and initiatives in multiple departments
• Ability to identify risks associated with business processes, operations, information security programs and technology projects
• Communicate and present technical work to stakeholders who may not have a cyber technical background
