Security Supervisor

Location: Singapore

Reports to: Security Manager

Position available: One

: This is a full-time position



The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily security operations within the shipyard, ensuring the safety of personnel, vessels, facilities, and assets. This role includes supervising security officers, enforcing shipyard safety and access control procedures, and ensuring compliance with company policies, shipyard regulations, and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Operations & Site Security:

Supervise daily security operations at shipyard entrances, docks, workshops, and restricted areas Ensure proper access control for staff, contractors, visitors, and vehicles Conduct patrols to prevent unauthorized access, theft, sabotage, or safety breaches Monitor CCTV systems and respond promptly to alarms and incidents Enforce shipyard safety rules, PPE requirements, and access permits

Team Supervision:

Supervise, deploy, and roster security officers effectively Brief officers on daily duties, safety alerts, and operational updates Monitor attendance, discipline, and performance of security personnel Provide on-the-job training and guidance to new or junior officers

Incident & Emergency Management:

Respond to security incidents such as intrusions, accidents, fire alerts, or disputes Coordinate with shipyard management, safety officers, emergency response teams, and authorities when required Prepare accurate incident reports and submit timely updates to management Assist in emergency evacuation drills and crisis response procedures

Compliance & Documentation:

Ensure compliance with company SOPs, shipyard regulations, and relevant security policies Maintain security logs, access records, incident reports, and attendance records Assist in audits, inspections, and investigations when required

Coordination & Communication:

Liaise with shipyard operations, HR, safety teams HSE, and contractors on security matters Handle queries or complaints professionally from employees and visitors Communicate clearly with management on security risks, manpower issues, and recommendations

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Requirements & Qualifications:

Minimum GCE 'O' Level or equivalent PLRD Security Supervisor licence (Singapore) At least 2-3 years of security experience, preferably in shipyard, industrial, or high-risk environments Knowledge of shipyard safety rules, permit-to-work systems, and access control procedures Basic computer skills (incident reporting, emails, rosters) Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership and people management skills Good situational awareness and decision-making ability Knowledge of emergency response and incident handling Clear communication and report-writing skills Firm, fair, and professional approach to enforcement Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Physical & Work Environment:

Required to patrol large outdoor and indoor shipyard areas Exposure to noise, weather conditions, and industrial operations Must be physically fit and alert during long shifts
