We are looking for a meticulous and driven

Senior Accountant

to join a dynamic regional finance team within the trading and commodities sector. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency across multiple business entities.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with both group and local policies, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role offers broad exposure to trading operations and global finance processes, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee monthly and quarterly financial closing activities for entities within scope. Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. Analyse and reconcile trading versus accounting P&L, providing clear variance explanations. Ensure compliance with all statutory and tax reporting requirements (direct and indirect). Maintain and strengthen internal controls over accounting and reporting processes. Act as a key finance contact for external auditors and ensure smooth audit coordination. Support submissions of regulatory surveys and financial disclosures. Participate in regional and global finance projects and process improvement initiatives. Provide financial insights and support to cross-functional teams across different markets.

Candidate Profile

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent; professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA) preferred. Minimum 5-8 years of experience in accounting or controlling, ideally within the

shipping, commodities, or trading

industries. Strong understanding of IFRS and statutory accounting requirements. Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; SAP will be an advantage. Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to deliver under tight deadlines. Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple countries and functions. Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
