Job Purpose
Reporting to the Director, Commercial in your assigned region, the role of Senior Advisor, Business Development is to drive the strategic engagement between assigned customers and APLL. Driving the growth/ expansion of relevant APLL solutions, in partnership with your key customer.This position will apply business strategies with a longer-term focus aligned to the organization's vision.
Responsibilities:
Business Development
- Monitor and evaluate sales and market data for a specific geographic region
and produce reports that will assist management in formulating strategy and
identifying areas in the market where business can be developed.
- Develop and employ business development plans to identify, evaluate, and
structure key transactions to ensure maximum value through the entire product
life cycle.
- Develop business plans, including but not limited to, creating innovative
products to drive sales, develop new market places etc. and bring in the revenue
to meet the sales revenue target assigned.
- Utilize the global presence of APLL and its network to create and sell solutions
that span across LOBs as one component.
- Build pipelines in Salesforce and lead the sales process for RPF/RFQ etc.
while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders until proposals are
submitted.
-Expand customer base, effective and quality sales coverage of the assigned business territory.
- Tap on project and exhibition opportunities.
Cross-Functional and Stakeholders Engagement
- Develop and implement a relationship management plan for potential customer
accounts to build relationships with relevant decision makers and influencers
within the customer organization and to enable effective two-way flow of
information and resolution of issues.
- Set clear objectives for each call or meeting; tailor standard materials to make
presentations to decision makers and influencers within the customer
organization.
- Develop and implement a customer contact plan to communicate product
launches. Act as first point of contact for customer queries and complaints and
resolve these, referring complex issues to others and ensuring that the customer
receives an appropriate response.
- Engage with different product owners, and obtain / provide advice, insights,
suggestions or recommendations on how to better deliver to meet customer
needs and support a stronger partnership with key clients, so as to maintain
customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to provide seamless services
to customers.
Budgeting and Insights Reporting
- Utilize database in Salesforce and provide accurate forecast in demand
planning.
- Periodic review of customers with credit terms and ensure timely recovery of
receivables.
- Responsible for providing regular reports (e.g. BvA, GQL reports, analyze
internal and external data) and updates to Line Manager and key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level in Sales, Business Development or related field.
- Over 3 years to 6 years in related roles.
- Experience in Logistics, Transportation, Shipping and International Business.
- Previous experience using CRM with accuracy and timeliness of inputs.
- Experience in selling Order Management solutions.
- Possess exceptional listening and negotiation skills, strong interpersonal skills,
able to adapt and be flexible in changing environments.
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
- Experience of general supervision of more junior colleagues (7 to 12 months)
