To provide high quality and timely analytical services for both treaty and facultative lines business. This includes reserving, commutation valuation, model development, segmentation analysis and other ad hoc actuarial projects.
Perform other actuarially related work as required and carry out quantitative analysis to support decision making.
Specific Responsibilities
Assist the reserving manager to perform M&A and commutation valuations
Perform analyses to support monthly & quarterly reserving, which include data preparation, updating calculation worksheets, evaluating loss ratio trends, analyzing claims development, mix of business shifts, reserve adequacy and other ad hoc reserve analyses
Support the preparation of presentation slides for the reserving committee meeting and management reporting; preparation of the meeting minutes for the reserving committee meeting
Prepare quarterly data submission pack to Catalina and assist in the reserve reconciliation works between Catalina and ACR
Provide analytical support on IFRS17 implementation, RBC calculation and ALM studies
Support the reserving manager in internal & external audit reviews and regulator inspections
Any other related duties as assigned
Indirect Involvement (including, but not limited to)
Analytical support to the company\xe2\x80\x99s ad hoc projects
Comply with external and internal regulatory and statutory policies, procedures and regulations
Operate as an effective team member by supporting colleagues and contributing in the delivery and achievement of overall team and business objectives
Undertake any other duties of a similar nature that the company reasonably requests to be performed that are within the expertise and skills of the jobholder
Language Skills
Excellent command of English (both written and spoken)
Asian language skills would be an asset
Required Skills / Work Experience
Attention to detail and high level prioritising skills in order to meet agreed timeframes;
Outstanding ability to communicate effectively with people across a range of disciplines;
The ability to work independently on specified projects;
Proven ability to use ResQ reserving software;
Excellent command of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office in general;
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access, including the ability to analyse large volumes of data.
Required Qualifications
Degree in quantitative discipline (Econometrics, Actuarial Science, Applied Math and Statistics, Engineering, Mathematical Finance or equivalent)
In pursuit of actuarial qualification. (e.g. Follow of Society of Actuaries, Fellow of Institute of Actuaries)
Professional Development
Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Asian non-life insurance and reinsurance business. Particular focus on reserving practices
Develop professionally and technically through on-the-job-training, as required. Participate in appropriate seminars and training sessions from a technical and networking perspective
