Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Role Overview

The Senior Analyst will be responsible for managing and overseeing Nostro reconciliations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal and external standards. While the team currently utilizes Smart Stream, the role requires flexibility and expertise to work across reconciliation platforms (e.g., Duco, Smart Stream, or similar). The individual will act as a subject matter expert (SME), driving issue resolution, strengthening controls, and supporting transformation initiatives within the reconciliation process.

Key Responsibilities

Perform and oversee daily Nostro reconciliations, ensuring breaks are identified, investigated, and resolved in a timely manner. Monitor exception workflows and escalate aged breaks to relevant stakeholders. Liaise with Operations, Treasury, Product Control, IT, and external counterparties to resolve discrepancies. Analyse root causes of reconciliation break and implement preventive measures to improve control effectiveness. Ensure reconciliations meet internal policy, regulatory, and audit requirements. Contribute to automation and process optimization, leveraging reconciliation platforms (Smart Stream, Duco, or equivalent). Participate in system configuration, testing, and deployment of new reconciliation rules. Maintain clear documentation, SOPs, and training guides for reconciliation processes. Provide training, coaching, and guidance to junior analysts or new joiners. Support transformation initiatives (e.g., system migrations, regulatory reporting, or process re-engineering).

Skills & Experience

Good experience in Nostro or cash reconciliation within financial services. Hands-on experience with reconciliation tools (Smart Stream, Duco, Intelli match, or similar platforms). Strong understanding of Nostro accounts, settlements, and cash management workflows. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data analysis). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify patterns and root causes. Good communication skills to interact with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, and Technology. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple deadlines. Familiarity with industry regulations and controls (e.g., SOX, Basel, local regulatory standards) is a plus.
