Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior API Developer to join our cloud engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust APIs and microservices using AWS cloud-native technologies. You will play a key part in building secure, scalable, and high-performing serverless applications that integrate seamlessly with internal and third-party systems.


This position is ideal for a candidate with 5 to 7 years of backend development experience, strong hands-on expertise in AWS services, and a passion for modern API design using RESTful and GraphQL standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-performing RESTful and GraphQL APIs hosted on AWS Build scalable serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync, and DynamoDB Integrate APIs with internal platforms and third-party systems using secure and efficient methods Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code following modern development practices Ensure application security, performance optimization, and scalability Participate in architecture design discussions, code reviews, and solution planning Work closely with DevOps, QA, and product teams in Agile development cycles Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using CodePipeline, Jenkins, or equivalent tools

Required Qualifications

5-7 years of hands-on experience in backend/API development Strong practical knowledge of AWS services: Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, CloudWatch Proficiency in programming languages such as Node.js, Python, or Java Proven experience in designing and implementing RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs Familiarity with serverless computing and event-driven architecture patterns Understanding of API security protocols and standards (e.g., OAuth2, JWT) Experience using Git and CI/CD tools for automated deployment and testing Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Developer - Associate or higher) Experience working with asynchronous messaging services like SNS and SQS Exposure to containerized application deployments using Docker, Fargate, or EKS Hands-on knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK * Familiarity with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
