What the role is:The Maintenance Enforcement Division (xe2x80x9cMEDxe2x80x9d) is a new division under the Insolvency and Public Trustee's Office (xe2x80x9cIPTOxe2x80x9d), and works closely with the Civil & Legislative Policy Division (xe2x80x9cCLPDxe2x80x9d), which oversees the policy matters for the workstream. You will work on the operational and ops-policy matters in relation to enforcement of maintenance orders in MED.What you will be working on:Your responsibilities in the MED will include the following: a) Managing your own cases relating to the enforcement of maintenance orders. You will conduct fact-finding and conciliation, and write reports regarding your findings. You may also have to appear in court if the judge requires your attendance to address any queries regarding the report. b) Overseeing team members regarding their case management and report-writing. c) Reviewing frameworks and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure that the maintenance enforcement process remains effective. d) Assisting with other administrative matters on behalf of MED.What we are looking for:*Key Competencies* a) [Investigating and Gathering Evidence] Ensure all evidence related to the case are appropriately obtained, documented, processed, and stored in accordance with agency policy and procedures to support case resolution. b) [Demonstrating resilience] Demonstrate emotional resilience and courage to overcome difficulties, persevering in driving towards purposeful outcomes. c) [Leveraging on technology] Keep up to date on technological trends relevant to my work in enforcement and adopt relevant technology-enabled solutions to address current and future enforcement challenges. d) [Application of law] Demonstrate understanding of and apply the fundamental legal principles, laws, legislation and government regulation to own areas of work. e) [Litigation support] Prepare or supervise and monitor the preparation of high quality and accurate court papers to be submitted to the Court within required timeline. *Personal Traits* Candidates shoul a) Possess strong verbal and written communication skills b) Be able to do front-line work with members of public c) Have a keen interest in the development of ops-policy and operational work d) Be meticulous and capable of collecting and evaluation complex or multifaceted information e) Be able to guide and manage team members in their conduct of cases. f) Prior experience in mediation, handling casework that involves family disputes, finance, legal drafting, accounting, or family law practice will be an advantage, but is not a pre-requisite for the role g) Ability to speak local languages/dialects will be an advantageAbout Ministry of Law:In Singapore, having the rule of law and advancing people's access to justice are not just lofty ideals but the backbone of a functioning and a progressive society.
