Job Description

The Senior Assistant Manager (internship) is a key member of the team that manages all internship matters for the teams assigned colleges and/or schools.

Responsibilities

Programme Operations and Customer Service Management

• Support to maintain currency of approved work-integrated education programmes (whether academic or non-academic).
• Responsible for curation and creation of all internship campaign(s) for programmes managed by the team; and to ensure that internship opportunities are sufficient enough to meet students internship demand.
• Organize and manage activities to educate and/or inform students about internship, internship procedures and performance during internship.
• Manage end-to-end work-integrated education processes of assigned internship programme(s).
• Monitor internship placement progress and pre-emptively address issues concerning successful internship placement or completion.
• Resolve or help the team members to resolve any internship related issues arising from either students and/or internship Employer(s).
• Co-lead and collaborate to find ways to make improvements to the operational and customer services processes to raise service standards.
• Provide first-line consultation and coaching support to students who need help in securing appropriate internship.

Business Development & Stakeholders Management

• Active engagement with current and potential employers (and any relevant stakeholders) to garner relevant internship opportunities.
• Plan and develop suitable work-integrated education initiatives with respective schools to reinforce workplace experiential learning.
• Plan and organize events and activities according to programme needs; and to constantly review and to report on event progress.

Team Management

• Supervise daily operations of the team to ensure that all daily and routine operations; and to support in addressing any issues arising from work.
• Collaborate with intra-teams to maintain and /or enhance working relationship and cohesiveness to ensure optimal operational performance den delivery for the whole of WIE.
• Nurture team members so that they remain engaged to their work and to keep them motivated to contribute towards NTU goals.
• Regular identify and recommend skill upgrading and developmental programmes to upskill teams capabilities and to enhance service deliveries.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in any field from a recognized University, or those with a polytechnic diploma with extensive relevant working experiences may also apply.
• At least 3 to 5 years working experiences with exposure in small team supervisory and/or management role, internship/training management, customer services and service delivery experience preferably in tertiary education, adult education sectors and/or government agencies environment.
• Have some prior experiences in managing projects or any initiatives within a team, and/or across different teams in an organization.
• Have some experiences in providing career coaching and/or consultation support.
• Successful track record in the management of internships/cooperative education/work-study degree programme/workplace learning/performance enhancement or adult education highly advantageous.
• Able to work with diverse groups of stakeholders such as students, employers and faculties.
• Competent problem-solving skills and able to make decisions when required.
• Able to proficiently communicate both in written and oral form.
• Able to lead a small team of co-workers and to work well as member of a team usually between 2 to 3 members.
• Organized and meticulous towards work.
