Job Description

This person will actively contribute to implementation of AIA’s ESG strategy; lead and own auxiliary ESG projects that contribute to building equity for the Group’s ESG programme, exercising a specialized technical, research, leadership and project management skillset; oversee and implement environmental management initiatives across the Group; support ESG reporting (data management and ESG indices/benchmarks submission) ; support to develop and operationalize Environmental Performance Data reporting, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, industry best practices and the organisation’s strategic priorities, including Net Zero and the Science Based Targets initiative.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design the processes, governance, and guidelines for successful completion of ESG report – the most important disclosure document for ESG for our investors
• Lead and support the data controls work in collaboration with Director of Reporting and Group Finance, working with Finance directors
• Lead the coordination of information, data and design development with internal and external stakeholders to produce the Annual ESG Report
• Plan and implement the submissions for various ESG ratings – a key ESG priority working across stakeholders to solicit disclosures that help lift AIA’s ESG performance
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders in regards to the development of the ESG Strategy
• Manage, consolidate, and lead independent projects that build recognition and equity for the AIA ESG programme.
• Research ESG related regulations, listing rules and trends, and work with other functions to operationalise ESG as per local regulation.
• Support and lead on the production and evolution of materials disseminated to internal stakeholder regarding ESG and its integration
• Refine reporting process through system development and implementation
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to implement AIA’s Net Zero with Green Operations Manager and Climate Team This involves working extensively with Facilities across markets and BU teams to undertake baselining, target setting, aligning, data management and helping to decarbonize operations through implementation of levers (several) identifying improvement and efficiency opportunities, and resource planning

• Required, Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Development, Sustainable Finance or a related field
• Data analytics skills, with experience in energy and carbon foot printing in line with both local and international accounting standards
• Familiarity with ESG Reporting manuals, guidelines and regulation, including those set by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Global Reporting Initiative, among others
• Experience in conducting ESG materiality assessments, including preparing and writing ESG Reports
• Ability to understand and disseminate information related to ESG aspects of the business, including policies and practices, in a short time frame
• Strong understanding of global sustainability issues, and sustainable finance principles and practices
• Strong written and spoken skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management experience, with ability to develop and maintain relationships across the business and at local and international level
• Ability to engage stakeholders on ESG, including informing on industry practices and seeking consensus on stakeholder feedback
• Multi-tasker, with project management experience
• Continue to identify opportunities and lead on ESG integration across the business in-line with strategic priorities
