The Role
The Senior Associate is responsible for daily oversight of fund operations functions with external vendors, with a specific emphasis on oversight of middle office functions, including ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements. The candidate will ensure that those operations have proper controls, operate efficiently, and deliver a high standard of service to our internal and external clients. The candidate will be a member of a global middle office team and must have a strong ability to work cross-functionally with team members and be responsible for ensuring a high quality of service to our clients and meeting their evolving needs.
Responsibilities
Oversee vendor performance by monitoring KPIs; ensure service provider and Dimensional adheres to all contractual policies, procedures and controls through review of contractual Service Level Agreements
Assist with new account onboarding functions and account setups where applicable across Dimensional products
Provide oversight of daily metrics and reporting deliverables received from service provider; track global issues and trends as they occur across vendors, recommend and implement solutions together with service provider. Analyze root cause of any exceptions and ensure remediation of root cause.
Asist in day-to-day exceptions and escalations for trade processing, corporate action processing, and portfolio accounting reconciliation.
Support multi-service lines of business projects that streamline processes and procedures for internal / external back or middle office work flow; work with senior management to implement processes
Facilitate periodic updates of operating memorandums; ensure all processes and controls are fully documented
Serve on organization-wide project committees, representing the Investment Operations perspective
May serve as lead in supervisor\xe2\x80\x99s absence; responsible for reviewing and approving others\xe2\x80\x99 work in certain cases
Qualifications
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree; Finance, Business Accounting, or similar discipline
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in middle office operations, accounting, and trade settlements
Past experience with third party vendor management of back office or middle office functions
Working knowledge of the Financial Services industry and mutual funds, including an in-depth understanding of middle office, custody, accounting and investment operations work flows and best practices
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Technical skills capability and experience with low-code programming utilities
Self-motivated individual with strong relationship building skills and an ability to work well in a team environment, both locally and globally
Ability to impact and influence others across the organization
Strong analytical mindset with an ability to synthesize data
Detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
