Purpose
Performs engineering and maintenance work in Controls & Instrumentations and to ensure a high reliable production. Designs and scales up manufacturing processes and tests manufactured products to maintain quality. Plans, designs and estimates time and cost, and oversees maintenance of structures, facilities, systems and components.
Key Responsibilities Area
1. Carry out implementation activities for plant modifications, capital projects and other identified plant improvement projects in line with defined specifications, budget and qualification of facilities in accordance with site to approved procedures.
2. Provides specialist advice to other departments and subordinates for trouble shooting / continuous improvements to processes / systems.
3. Maintain the site equipment and facility to high GMP standard meeting the regulatory expectations such that the site is always inspection ready.
4. Implementation and execute of the Product Contamination Cause and Elimination (PCCE) program.
5. Provide input to the project team of capital projects as well as develop and implement the maintenance plan for newly installed equipment.
6. Provide site inputs to the development of Global Engineering Standards (GES) and Primary Supply Standard Engineering Practices (PMSEP).
7. Monitor and enforce compliance measures (including safety) within their specific discipline to ensure inspection readiness of plant, as well as participate as an audit team member in the conduct of audits.
8. Contribute to the development of the annual operating budget of the section to ensure achievement operational targets of section.
9. Implementation of the GSK Production System (GPS) for Engineering Services
10. Responsible for planning and implementing plant maintenance, managing of engineering resources during plant turnaround and prompt resolution of breakdowns, including engaging external assistance.
11. To support the development of facility master plan to ensure compliance to engineering standards, management of obsolescence and asset replacement.
12. Monitor and manage the defined utility system to ensure constant and reliable utility supply to the plant at all times so as to minimize disruption to the production process.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Good degree in the Controls and Instrumentations
At least 5 years of Controls experience in the process / pharmaceutical industry
Experience in Batch Control ISA-88 and Delta V system (automation tools)
Experience in SIL calculation and TMR system (Honeywell Safety Manager) will be added advantage.
Experience in the Siemen PLC system
Good understanding of local codes and requirements
Familiar and understanding of GSK Global Engineering Standard (GES) and understanding of industrial standards.
Basic commercial knowledge & project management skills
