Job Description

:

Design, build, and operate scalable, secure backend services and APIs for government-grade applications on commercial cloud. Own microservices and data models end-to-end, contribute to architecture decisions, enforce secure CI/CD, and mentor engineers in an agile squad. You'll work across API design, cloud-native deployment (AWS-first), infrastructure automation (IaC), observability, and production reliability, collaborating closely with frontend, platform, and product teams.

Must-have skills

(GCC/Public Sector) Experience

Languages & Frameworks:

Strong in one of Java (Spring Boot) / Kotlin / C# (.NET) or Node.js/Python for backend APIs and automation.

APIs & Microservices:

Design RESTful services, define API contracts, performance, resilience, and security; contribute to service architecture.

Cloud-native on AWS:

Hands-on with Lambda/serverless, ECS/EKS, RDS/DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, IAM/security; practical cost/perf tuning.

CI/CD & DevOps:

Git-based workflows; build/test/deploy pipelines (GitLab/Jenkins); secure pipelines; code reviews.

Infrastructure as Code:

Terraform/CloudFormation/CDK for repeatable environments.

Data & Storage:

SQL and NoSQL schema design, query optimisation, and modelling for scale.

Testing & Quality:

Unit/integration tests (JUnit/TestNG/NUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers); troubleshooting and performance optimisation.

Security:

IAM, secure coding and dependency hygiene; aligns to government security/compliance expectations.

Agile Ways of Working:

Participate in system design, planning, and iterative delivery with cross-functional teams; mentor/junior devs.
