He/she reports to Lab Manager/s and is responsible for the overall technical & developmental matters related to the company. Duties include:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Determining the confidentiality, integrity, quality, technical, health and safety aspects of the company.
• When necessary, updating of test methods and working instructions.
• Identifying and developing new areas of work and the corresponding test equipment required.
• Highlighting unusual results and referring them for further investigation.
• The interpretation of standards in accordance with operating manual.
• Supervising all work related to the section(s).
• Training and supervising all staff in the section(s).
• To conduct internal audits.
• Ensuring that all equipment in the section(s) are calibrated in compliance to schedule.
• Ensuring that the requirements of SAC-SINGLAS in the field of ENV and C&B Testing are met.
• In the absence of the Senior Chemist, his/her duties shall be covered by the Lab Manager and Assistant Lab Manager respectively.

Qualifications

Job Requirement:

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor\'s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Chemistry, Science or equivalent
• Interacts with operational personnel, scientific personnel, and department management.
• May work with potentially hazardous materials.
• Overtime and weekend work as required.
• Work requires some standing and sitting for long periods of time, including working within a laboratory hood and standing at a bench top.
• Work requires use of PPE (personal protective equipment).
