IDHealth, an initiative of Happee Hearts Movement is a community-based, integrated health team dedicated to serving adults with intellectual disability and their caregivers.


People with intellectual disability have poorer health and lower access to and use of healthcare services than the general population. IDHealth's goal is to reduce the barriers to health and healthcare utilization for this population by providing a health service that is accessible to and appropriate for people with intellectual disability. In addition, we aim to increase the capability of Singapore's health and social service sectors to serve this population.

Job Summary



The Senior Clinical Educator will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering high-quality training programs, creating evidence-based curricula, and supporting research initiatives to enhance the capabilities of healthcare professionals, caregivers, and stakeholders serving adults with intellectual disabilities. This role requires a dynamic individual with expertise in clinical education, curriculum design, and research, combined with a deep commitment to improving outcomes for individuals with intellectual disabilities.





Key Responsibilities



1. Curriculum Development



Design and develop engaging, evidence-based training curricula tailored to the needs of healthcare professionals, caregivers, and support staff working with adults with intellectual disabilities. Incorporate best practices in inclusive healthcare, behavioral support, and person-centered care into educational materials. Ensure curricula are accessible, culturally sensitive, and aligned with IDHealth's mission and values. Update and refine existing training materials based on feedback, emerging research, and industry standards.


2. Training and Facilitation



Deliver high-impact training sessions, workshops, and webinars to diverse audiences, including healthcare providers, caregivers, and disability sector partners. Utilize adult learning principles and innovative teaching methods to ensure effective knowledge transfer. Provide mentorship and support to junior educators or team members involved in training delivery. Evaluate training effectiveness through participant feedback and outcome metrics, adjusting approaches as needed.


3. Programme Evaluation and Research



Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and conduct research studies focused on healthcare delivery, education, and outcomes for adults with intellectual disabilities. Contribute to the development of research proposals, literature reviews, and data analysis to support evidence-based practices. Disseminate research findings through reports, publications, or presentations at conferences and professional forums. Stay abreast of current research and trends in intellectual disability healthcare to inform IDHealth's programs. Develop and implement evaluation frameworks to assess the impact of training programs and curricula. Use data-driven insights to refine educational content and delivery methods. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the Capability Building Team.


Qualifications



Education:



Master's degree or higher in a relevant field such as Nursing, Public Health, Education, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or a related discipline; or a Bachelor's degree in Medicine





Experience:



Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical education, curriculum development, or training facilitation, preferably in healthcare or disability services. Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs for diverse audiences. Experience in research design, data analysis, or program evaluation is highly desirable. Prior work with individuals with intellectual disabilities or in inclusive healthcare settings is a strong asset.


Skills and Competencies:



Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into accessible content. Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with experience engaging learners from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency in research methodologies and data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, NVivo, or similar) would be helpful. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple projects independently. Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and e-learning platforms. Passion for advocacy and improving healthcare outcomes for adults with intellectual disabilities. Certifications: Relevant certifications in education, training, or healthcare (e.g., Certified Health Education Specialist, Clinical Educator Certification) are a plus.
