Find us wherever there's a challenge to be tackled and an impact to be made.Our leading Power Market Advisory Practice are looking for an experienced Senior Consultant/ Manager, experienced in the Indian Power Market, to join our growing team in Singapore.We work at the forefront of the energy sector alongside market specialists with deep industry knowledge where you will be able to deploy and then broaden your skillset and expertise. Led by a Senior Management Team respected as Thought Leaders within the industry, we use deep analytical insight to help our clients to define their strategies, shape their asset portfolios, and sharpen their assessment of market opportunities.What you will be doing

  • Perform fundamentals-based research on the Indian power market, taking into consideration generation mix, regulatory policies, emission targets, and other market-specific factors.
  • Lead and apply fundamentals-based research towards developing and maintaining power market models, so as to produce robust modelling of electricity price projections and fuel mix forecasts.
  • Go-to-market to secure and deliver bespoke market advisory for clients, which can include transaction advisory (buy-side and sell-side), PPA structuring, market opportunity assessment, or evaluation of impending policy or rule changes.
Your skills and experience
  • You have Energy experience of between 4 - 8 years and command a thorough understanding of the power market dynamics in India.
  • You are familiar with the price formation dynamics of the wholesale power markets in India, and the pricing dynamics of the Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) markets.
  • You have strong quantitative skills and have direct experience in developing and maintaining power market models in power market simulation software such as PLEXOS (preferred) or PROMOD, BID3, EPSI, GAMS etc, and can guide junior consultants to do the same.
  • You have experience in energy asset valuation, commercial due diligence and transaction advisory, and have the right networks into lenders, financial advisors, investors and off-takers.
  • You have led and delivered analysis to investors, developers, lenders and off-takers, based on detailed quantitative analysis and providing advice grounded in facts, including curtailment analysis.
  • You are familiar with the PPA dynamics in India, including PPA pricing, factors affecting bankability of a renewable asset, the key determinants for PPA deals and have experience in leading PPA negotiations.
  • You are an excellent communicator in English, both in written and verbal forms.
