We are looking for:
A highly skilled legal professional to provide legal support and to counsel the key stakeholders of the Group in South East Asia
A trusted business partner able to balance legal requirements with business objective and to render practical and creative legal solutions to help business growth, while managing risks and ensuring compliance
Someone capable of managing an assigned project and instructing, coordinating and monitor outside counsel, including the development of strategies and tactics
A team player with a can-do attitude who can work independently
We count on you for:
Assisting with various legal projects (such as M&A, JV, divestment, liquidation, etc. ) and contract management (draft, review and negotiate various contracts and legal documents)
Provide legal advice on various legal matters
Following up on governance issues and attending board meetings
Providing legal advice and assistance with dispute and employment-related settlements
Participating in the development of legal training programs and providing legal training on various legal subjects
Developing, implementing, and following up legal policies
Identify legal issues in normal operational business activities, and convince clients to take the most appropriate legal approach best calculated to advance the interest of the Group.
Instruct, coordinate and monitor outside counsel, including the development of strategies and tactics
Collaborate with other team members, including legal teams in other jurisdictions, to ensure standardization and alignment on legal matters at Group level and support continuous improvement in that respect

You will bring:
A law degree from a well-respected, accredited Singapore university (or other common law jurisdiction)
12 years or more post-graduate experience as Legal Counsel in an international working environment in South East Asia in the chemical industry
In-depth knowledge of the laws of Singapore, including but not limited to company law, contract law, civil law, labor law, Singapore civil litigation procedural law.
Solid track record of corporate / commercial projects experience in South East Asia
Strong customer orientation, independence, initiative, decisiveness, research and analytical skills, and excellent communication and negotiation skills
Project management experience and ability to work in cross-functional teams * Fluency in English
