At the AI Automation Team, we strive to stay ahead by building comprehensive automated ML/AI solutions to solve complex challenges in Grab's marketplace. Our team focuses on areas like experiments, embeddings, recommendations, and large-scale marketplace optimizations. We're excited to welcome lead machine learning engineers who are passionate about advancing our mission by designing and refining innovative ML and experiment platforms.
Get to Know the Role
As a Senior Data Scientist, your expertise will drive the development of advanced experimentation frameworks and optimization algorithms. You will create statistical testing methodologies, building experimentation platforms, and devising stochastic optimization solutions that deliver tangible business impacts across Grab's ecosystem. You will need a solid foundation in statistical analysis, experimental design, and optimization algorithms, with demonstrated experience evolving scalable experimentation frameworks and optimization solutions. A profound understanding of causal inference, hypothesis testing, and stochastic processes will be crucial for success in this role. You will report into the Senior Machine Learning Engineering Manager and work onsite in Grab One North Singapore office.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will design and develop automated frameworks for experimentation design and analysis.
• You will create and manage large-scale statistical analysis pipelines to evaluate and interpret experiment data.
• You will implement stochastic optimization algorithms for improved marketplace efficiency and personalised user targeting.
• You will work with product teams to ensure experiments are rigorously designed and results are interpreted.
• You will guide teams in applying proper experimental design and optimization methodologies.

Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Your degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field will support your technical insights needed for this role.
• You have over 5 years of experience conducting experimentation, statistical analysis, and optimization, ensuring you're ready for complex challenges.
• Your expertise in A/B testing, multivariate testing, and experimental design is essential to your success.
• You have proficiency in statistical methods including hypothesis testing, power analysis, and causal inference, which are crucial for the role's responsibilities.
• Your programming skills in Python are necessary for statistical computing and will help implement solutions.
• You've worked with multiple experimentation platforms and frameworks, reflecting your capability to build scalable systems.
• Familiarity with multi-armed bandit optimisation algorithms and reinforcement learning will support your strategic decision-making in experiments.
