Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.Job SummaryAs a Senior Data Scientist with the Excavation division at Caterpillar you will leverage your focus on accuracy and keen attention to detail as a key contributor to the development analytical tools used by senior leadership to make business decisions.What You Will Do:Direct the data gathering, data mining, data processing and data modeling for large datasets including the processing, cleansing, and verification of datasets used for analysis. .Lead requirement definition and scope of data analyses, presenting and reporting possible business insights to management using data visualization technologies.Conduct research on data model optimization and algorithms to improve effectiveness and accuracy on data analyses.Use knowledge of statistical approaches, data management techniques, and/or related digital technologies to complete projects.Conduct technical analysis of new requests from internal customers to gather requirements, analyze, and convert into technical requirements for optimal coding structure for technical development.Research and apply new methods and digital technologies to exceed customer expectations.What You Have:Your Analytical Thinking to leverage the most effective tools and technology that will help senior leadership make business decisions.Your demonstrated skills in the design and development of software applications in an Object-Oriented Programming Language such as SQL, Java, or Python and apply machine learning tools and languages (such as R).Your extensive skills in Query and Database Access Tools to use, support and access facilities for searching, extracting, and formatting data for further use.Your knowledge in Requirements Analysis to effectively build tools based on the voice of leadership.Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college or university.At least 3 years of professional experience in Data Analytics and SQL ConceptsAbility to clearly communicate vision and complex technical ideas, data science initiatives and insights to all levels of users within the organizationKnowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.Ability to work on increasingly more complex assignments and will have demonstrated strong leadership, initiative, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.Displayed intellectual curiosity and the desire to learn new tasks with strong attention to details.Ability to work independently.Additional Information:The primary locations for this position are Peoria, IL ; Singapore, and Akashi, JapanDomestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify.Sponsorship for employment visa is not available.ISE is not available for his position.About CaterpillarCaterpillar Inc. is the world\'s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, off-highway diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives.
