Grab Support is a technology-driven team focused on helping users when they need assistance. The Data Science team within Grab Support is dedicated to developing machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) technologies that make our products smarter. Currently, the team is building advanced conversational AI solutions to bring user experience to the next level.
Get to Know the role
As a Senior Data Scientist specialising in Conversational AI, you will report directly to the Head of Data Science, Integrity & Core Experience, and work onsite at Grab One North Singapore office. You will lead the development of modern chatbot technologies designed to handle diverse customer inquiries across Grab's super-app ecosystem. Your work will empower users with thoughtful and seamless support interactions. You are also committed to learning and experimenting with new methodologies to advance conversational AI capabilities.
The Critical Tasks You will Perform

• You will analyse large volumes of unstructured data to understand the business, the product, and user pain points.
• You will design, develop, and train advanced machine learning models tailored for conversational AI.
• You will develop and refine solutions for tasks such as intent recognition, sentiment analysis, information extraction, and dialogue management.
• You will perform rigorous model evaluation and A/B testing, deploying models in split environments to measure their real-world performance.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate the models and enhance the product experience.
• You will stay updated on the latest advancements in the field and experiment with innovative approaches to test their effectiveness.

Qualifications
What Essential Skills You will Need

• You have a Degree in Computer Science or related fields, with at least 3 years of relevant experience
• You are proficient in analysing large datasets to obtain actionable insights.
• You have expertise in designing and training machine learning models, with fundamentals in NLP algorithms and mathematics, including familiarities with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch) and algorithms (CNN/RNN, BERT, seq2seq models).
• You are experienced in using LLMs in NLP tasks and other applications. Familiar with application patterns such as RAG.
• You have experience developing solutions for tasks like intent recognition, sentiment analysis, information extraction, and dialogue management.
• You have experience in model evaluation and A/B testing techniques to assess model performance in real-world scenarios.
• You are proficient in statistical programming languages such as Python, with familiarity in RDBMS like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
