The data science team here leverage our rich datasets to find solutions to problems ranging from safety to fraud. We\'re a hands-on team interested in the end to end data lifecycle: from wrangling data to understanding the trade-offs between model complexity and deployment in production.We are a dedicated group of professionals driven by the mission to secure our platform against fraud. You\'ll be joining a collaborative environment where we work closely with product, risk, compliance, and engineering teams to create and implement innovative fraud detection solutions.Get to Know the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to help detect and reduce risk and fraud. If you\'re passionate about solving complex problems with immediate real-world impact, we want you!As a Data Scientist specializing in fraud detection, you will play a critical role in protecting our users and ensuring the integrity of our services. You will use your deep understanding of user behavior and data analysis skills to identify emerging fraud trends and design effective machine learning models to combat them.QualificationsThe Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will develop a comprehensive understanding of user behavior from data to identify and predict fraud trends.
• You will design and refine machine learning models specifically aimed at risk and fraud detection.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage the entire lifecycle of model development, from design and implementation to deployment.
• You will apply various machine learning techniques, including anomaly detection, supervised, and unsupervised models.
• You will explore and utilize graph and sequence data for advanced modeling.
• You will work independently or as part of a diverse team to solve complex problems related to fraud detection.
• You will innovate and apply research to develop new perspectives and solutions.

What Skills You Will NeedProgramming and Algorithm Design: You should be proficient in programming languages like Python, R, or Java, and have a strong foundation in designing algorithms using various data structures.Machine Learning Expertise: Proficiency in machine learning techniques such as classification, clustering, and anomaly detection is essential.Data Processing and Model Optimization: Experience with ETL processes and model optimization techniques like feature selection, hyper-parameter tuning, and model validation is required.Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with tools such as Scikit-Learn, Pandas, XGBoost, and deep learning frameworks like Tensorflow or PyTorch is necessary.Predictive Modeling: Deep understanding and hands-on experience with predictive modeling algorithms like logistic regression, neural networks, decision trees, and heuristic models is crucial.Collaboration and Independent Learning: You should be able to work efficiently with different teams and be self-motivated to independently learn new concepts or techniques.Detail Orientation: Strong attention to detail and effective time management skills are key to success in this role.Additional InformationBenefits at Grab:We care deeply about your well-being and are committed to supporting you every step of the way.
