To support our research and operations, we're looking for someone who will help us seek automation and self-service opportunities and drive the development. The intent is to speed up the time to market and simplify the user experience while also making the operations more reliable.About the job You will be working on transformation of the database landscape from operated by significant group of humans to managed by code, with the intent to provide customer self-service where appropriate. You will have a significant level of independence in looking for opportunities and driving solutions. You will also ensure that the company systems, both internal and externally facing, have reliability, uptime, and sufficient improvement both in available self-service tools and automation. You'll have the opportunity to work on large scale, geographically distributed and hybrid (mix of cloud and on premise) database environment and improve its design and operations procedures. You will be part of a very friendly global team, who is encouraged to collaborate and think out of the box. We strongly believe that supporting curiosity is key to success.About the candidate The ideal candidate has a database administration experience with Oracle products and/or MS SQL, but at the same time has sound knowledge of automation tools and approaches. You should have a proven track record of developing automation in a fast-moving operations environment as well as creating self-service tools.Desired experience and skills Relevant IT systems administration and/or automation experience Sound knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Shell, PL/SQL, PowerShell) Ability to integrate scripts to orchestration tools like Ansible and Terraform Experience with maintaining large hybrid of on-prem and cloud based environments Experience with Agile/Scrum framework ITIL Certification, ServiceNow and JIRA experience is an advantage Primary job responsibilities Lead and manage individual projects priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with minimal management supervision. Subject matter expertise for operations related projects. Contribute to product-oriented squad teams. Collaboration with global teams across different divisions and cultures. Seek automation and self-service opportunities in the area of expertise and drive the projects to automate them Directly manage 3rd party managed service provider. Lead discussions with Security and Compliance teams.
