Job Description

Brewin Design Office is looking for a Senior Designer to be an integral part of its design team. This role is based in our Singapore office.

Responsibilities

Design


Work closely with the Senior Design team to determine briefs, narratives, resolve design and technical challenges. All rounded design involvement which includes Concept Design, Space Planning, Schematic Design, Detailed Design, Joinery Detailing and Coordination Undertake research to form design concepts Prepare logical and well thought-out design solutions that include sketches, mood boards, CAD drawings and models, prototypes and resolve materials and production methods, exploring multiple options in arriving at a final set of solutions to consider Effectively communicate design ideas and narrative internally to the team and design director, and externally to clients and consultants Work with the production team during technical design, production and delivery of a project to ensure the design vision and client requirements are met Design Development, coordinating with external consultants related to the project, and resolving design and implementation challenges Managing design and technical aspects of a project Being able to start a project and see it through Tender Documentation
Project management


Taking on project management on selected projects Communication and coordination with internal and external stakeholders, including architect, firm-appointed and/or client-appointed contractors and sub-contractors, local authorities, and other consultants to ensure project is on schedule, within budget, and completed to the highest professional standards Preparing, attending and actively participating in project related meetings, minuting and following up with sense of urgency Adhering to agreed schedules, with a keen attention to deadlines and the necessary work that is required to meet such deadlines, completed to highest standards
On-site coordination


Overseeing design related matters during construction Resolving onsite issues and making design related decisions on behalf of the firm by employing critical thinking Ensuring road blocks and bottlenecks are resolved to deliver project on time

Requirements

Clear communication skills, written and spoken, especially being clear, concise and convincing in discussions and email communications Good presentation skills, as there may be a need to present design to clients Good organization skills, as there will be multiple projects and priorities to manage Organized thinking, alongside logical thinking in design and project management Independence, proactiveness, confidence and thoroughness in performing responsibilities, without needing constant feedback or prompting Works well under pressure Team player

Key Experience

Degree or equivalent in architecture or interior design Proven experience and natural creative ability 8+ years of working in interior design/architectural high-end, small and medium scale bespoke and roll out projects - private residential and condo scale residential, commercial, hotels, spas Evidence of multiple drawing packages Evidence of going through a full tender process Experience of working to tight technical disciplines Strong interest in interior design and history of interior design
