Purpose of the Position:
Responsible for the development of robust communications strategies that support External, Brand, Internal Communications as well as Issues Management. The Senior Director Communications INT-C is a subject matter expert at senior leaders level and is responsible for leading, developing and implementing strategic communications plans that drive employee engagement and executive visibility in support of Astellas\xe2\x80\x99 stated business goals.
Reporting to the Vice President, Commercial Communications, this role ensures a consistent and on-going flow of communications that support business objectives through engaging, creative, timely and effective initiatives that help employees and external stakeholders understand and deliver on the company\xe2\x80\x99s strategy. The role directs the Communications Team at the regional level to ensure robust programmes are developed and implemented with the aim to:
Drive positive engagement with internal and external stakeholders on Astellas\xe2\x80\x99 corporate values, vision / direction, and brand
Raise corporate profile, and profile of the Company\xe2\x80\x99s portfolio to its stakeholders which include media, HCPs, payers and patient groups
Provide communication counsel to the President of International Markets and his reginal leadership team members
Guide and support the Communications Leads in the affiliates at International Markets to ensure the delivering of professional communication support across the region
Support change management communications where appropriate.
Be responsible for developing and implementing communications strategies that interface between affiliates, Therapeutic Area Communications, Global One Commercial Communications and where necessary with other global communication functions within the company such as corporate, Medical and Development etc.
Maintain integrity of corporate communications across the region by leading regional communications strategy that pull through global resources and campaigns
Strategically implement executive visibility, regional internal and external comms within the region
Professional Profile
Demonstrable experience of developing robust International PR strategies that support engagement from both internal and external stakeholders
Ability to work under pressure with external media and stakeholders (e.g. journalists on deadline)
A thorough understanding of how the media works
Must be comfortable dealing with journalists and similar stakeholders
Able to engage internal stakeholders at all levels to support the buy-in and approval of Communications programmes and strategies proposed
Training and qualifications
Postgraduate qualification in Communications
Bachelor Degree
Awareness and understanding of the Global codes of practice and how they apply to Communications
Excellent command of the English language, especially written
BS or BA Degree or Equivalent in journalism, communications or related field
Minimum of 15+ years of increasing corporate communications or public relations experience
