Look no further! We are currently seeking a Sr. Director People & Organisation to join our organization and become a strategic partner to the business in our South-East Asia operations.

Business Area South-East Asia

Business Area South-East Asia (BASEA) comprises of Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Philippines, Sri Lanka & Maldives and Laos, Cambodia & Myanmar. BASEA is part of APAC/IO, and this position will report to the Corporate Vice President (CVP) of Business Area South-East Asia (BASEA).

The Position

As our new Sr. Director for P&O, your primary role is to link the People agenda with the business ambition and strategy. You will collaborate closely with our senior leadership team in the Business Area as well as in our affiliates, understand the business and align our P&O strategies with the organization\'s objectives. You will have four direct reports as well as a strong team of People & Organization (HR) Directors in each affiliate as dotted line reports.

To succeed in this role, you must accept the fact, that change is the only constant and thrive in an environment where two days are not the same. You will act as a change agent, driving, communicating, and initiating the relevant changes needed to move the business forward. You will handle a high level of complex projects in a South-East Asian culture and business, which requires an ability to listen, understand and make clear decisions and set direction with a specific focus on business ethics and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Align, develop, and execute on People & Organization (HR) strategies to support our business goals and address the unique challenges of the South-East Asia region
  • Partner closely with senior leaders to provide guidance on organizational design, performance management, employee engagement, and talent development
  • Drive initiatives to enhance employee development, retention, and overall engagement, fostering a culture of continuous improvement with a strong focus on NNWay as well as the front line
  • Oversee the implementation of P&O policies and programs, ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations by ensuring a strong collaboration with the relevant Legal & Compliance stakeholders across the region
  • Collaborate with regional P&O teams to standardize practices, share best practices, and facilitate knowledge exchange across locations with a specific focus on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB)
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Business Area and P&O team, fostering their growth and development
  • Act as trusted advisor within the P&O space to the Corporate Vice President of BASEA and challenge the status quo in a constructive and respectful manner
Requirements:
  • Ideally 10+ years of relevant human resources work experiences (e.g. at least 8 years as HR business partnering, Organization design/development, Employee Relations, Change management, Organizational effectiveness, Talent Management)
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master\'s degree preferred.
  • More than 5 years of proven track record within P&O leadership roles, ideally with an understanding of working in a melting pot of cultures
  • Knowledge of labor laws/HR regulations in multiple countries in Asia would be an added advantage.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business objectives into effective P&O strategies and initiatives
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in English is required and cultural understanding and/or experience is considered an advantage
  • For external candidates, Singaporean PR/Citizenship would be highly preferred.
