The individual will be responsible for the overall concept, architecture, design, development and implementation of device electronics for laboratory instrumentation for life sciences.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of hands-on experience in bringing an electronics instrumentation product from concept to mass production release.
Primary duties include:
Design and development of mixed-signal, power electronics based multi-layer PCA, as well as electronics system integration and project execution.
Analog and digital electronics design, including optoelectronics, power electronics and embedded systems, as well as safety and EMC compliance.
Responsibility of design from concept, schematic, layout until design files release for PCB fabrication. Board bring up, functional testing and integration of electronics boards into life science instrumentation.
How will you get here?
Education
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Honors) with proven relevant experience, Master’s Degree is preferred.
Experience
Experience working in multi-disciplinary design teams, preferably in the field of biotechnology instrumentation.
Extensive experience with analog & digital electronics, power electronics, schematics capture & layout design (including library design), cable assembly design, and design documentation.
Experience with embedded systems, DC/stepper motor drivers, opto-electronics, CMOS/CCD control electronics.
Experience in NPI project execution and familiar with Product Development Life Cycle
Prototypes board development experience is a must.
Working experience in cross-functional teams is required for senior engineer position.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Years of relevant experience required: 6-9 Years
Excellent troubleshooting skills and failure analysis knowledge is a must.
Broad knowledge of state-of-the-art components, lab tools, and electronics CAD products is required.
Knowledge of EMC countermeasures to Class B levels
Hands-on experience in AutoCAD, OrCAD, PADS, or Altium.
Meticulous and tenacious self-starter
Successful candidate should be a good team player with excellent communication skill.
