will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of instrumentation engineering packages within offshore oil & gas projects, including FPSOs and platforms. The role requires ensuring technical integrity, compliance with project requirements, and timely delivery of instrumentation deliverables, while supporting cost and schedule optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Support the
Lead Instrumentation Engineer
on assigned projects and report to the
Head of Instrumentation Engineering
on overall discipline matters.
Implement company processes, procedures, and quality policies in all assigned areas.
Ensure project activities are executed within contractual scope, schedule, and budget.
Prepare and deliver
field instrumentation documentation
, including but not limited to:
Instrumentation Design Basis and Metering Philosophy
Specifications and datasheets for control valves, safety valves, choke valves, on/off valves, field instruments, and analysers
Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) reports Review and approve vendor documents for instrumentation and mechanical/electrical packages.
Provide technical support to obtain approvals from classification societies, verification bodies, and other regulatory authorities.
Ensure work is compliant with
QHSE standards
and internal control procedures.
Participate in vendor evaluations and workshops (SIL, CHAZOP, Alarm Management) and review related reports.
Continuously seek improvements in project cost, schedule, and deliverables.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree
in Instrumentation Engineering (Electrical or Chemical Engineers with relevant experience will also be considered).
Minimum
12 years of Instrumentation Design Engineering experience
, including at least 3 years in offshore platforms or FPSOs.
Demonstrated experience in medium/large-scale greenfield oil & gas projects with knowledge of project phases, milestones, and deliverables.
Proven track record in preparing specifications, philosophies, datasheets, and procurement documentation for:
Control valves, shutdown valves, choke valves, metering systems, and field instrumentation packages. Experience in procurement lifecycle -- datasheets, RFQs, TBEs, purchase requisitions, vendor drawing review, and approvals.
Knowledge of
Brazilian regulations and requirements
, particularly for metering, will be an advantage.
Participation in technical workshops (SIL, CHAZOP, Alarm Management) and report reviews.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of industry standards (API, ISO, IEC, IECEx, etc.) related to instrumentation.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills; able to work independently as a self-starter.
Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to present technical issues to clients, teams, and regulatory authorities.
Strong team leadership and mentoring ability, capable of guiding junior engineers.
