About the role
To perform operation and maintenance tasks on M1 transmission network involving DWDM, SDH, Clock System, routers, switches, NMS servers and Windows servers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform 24x7 standby duties on alternate week basis. Candidate needs to be vigilant in monitoring alarms via SMS & NMS system and respond quickly to call up activation.
- Troubleshoot and perform corrective actions (e.g. hardware replacement) to resolve network faults.
- Attend to nightwork involving software loading and configuration work. To perform service creation and configuration work on routers and switches. Perform fibre cable laying and removal when needed.
- Update documentation and update database records relating to network and operation.
- Generate daily reports and perform routine maintenance tasks and spares maintenance.
- At times, travelling between data centres and working at different locations around Singapore may be required.
- Minimum Diploma in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology.
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in either telecommunications or IT industry.
- Experience in IP networking knowledge or server administration knowledge or scripting or programming knowledge is an added plus.
- Possess good initiative and proactiveness to follow up on outstanding issues with vendor/s.
- Independent and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
