Senior level position to manage ecological monitoring and assessment projects, lead and undertake field surveys, monitoring and sample collection for biological and physicochemical parameters for a wide range of coastal, marine and terrestrial environmental projects; periodic weekend work as well as occasional overseas travel in the Asia Pacific region may be required
Assist with other applied research activities and QA/QC, compilation and analysis of various survey and monitoring data
Contribute in the preparation of technical reports and proposals, e.g. Environmental Impact Assessments; support for other tasks and administrative duties will also be required
Development of innovative and multidisciplinary technical and organizational methods/services
Work collaboratively as part of a team and share knowledge with colleagues
Education and Experience
Minimum Degree in Environmental/ Marine/Life Science or related discipline with at least 8yr of experience
Post-graduate degree in Marine Biology / Science, Oceanography, Ecology, Life Sciences, or related discipline is an advantage
Prior experience in ecological field sampling methods, scientific writing and statistical analysis of data
Knowledge and Skills
Self-motivated, creative, energetic, willing to learn new skills, and interested in continuous improvement, through best practices and research
Experience on working in terrestrial or marine ecosystems, biodiversity, conservation and management issues
Physically capable and medically fit to work long hours in the field or at sea in a variety of conditions
Attention to detail with good verbal, planning, analytical and writing skills, presentation and communication competencies
Ability to work well independently under pressure, or as part of a team, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with multiple projects, stakeholders and frequent deadlines
Working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint,
Confidence working with different external stakeholders (e.g. developers, contractors, government agencies, NGOs, academia etc) and demonstrated experience in interaction and management of external stakeholders
Good cooperative interpersonal skills working with a wide range of colleagues of diverse backgrounds
Ability to work flexibly in response to project needs including willingness to travel
