Short Description

Envision yourself working in a collaborative and innovative work environment that creates healthy and memorable residential dining experience for all residents staying on campus with meal plans.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of dining operations and in consultation with the Senior Associate Director of Retail and Dining Services, and the Deputy Director of Housing Services, this position is responsible for implementing the residential dining food service program and overseeing the culinary programs for campus residential dining halls.

This position will also work closely with residential constituents comprising Masters, Residential Fellows and Student Residents to deliver the smooth running operation of the residential dining services.



Dining Halls

  • Responsible for ensuring a high quality, safe, and clean dining experience within the residential dining halls for designated meal periods.
  • Ensure the completion of food waste logs, temperature logs, production logs, and transfer logs are in place for systematic accountability.
  • Provide forecast of the meal plan budget and ensure the meal plan provision to be within the targeted budget.
  • Ensure front caterer/ operator staff are trained and engaged in service excellence and safety standards through the agreed development of comprehensive and consistent training programs.
  • In coordination with Senior Manager and on campus facilities services and outside contractors to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the residential dining facilities.
  • Ensure food signage and descriptions are accurate.
  • Assist in directing timely production of all meals and menu items.
  • High emphasis on food presentation, quality, diverse cuisines, menu design & implementation with fresh ideas utilizing market trends.
  • Establish and foster good relationships with College Masters and residents on meal related matters.
  • Develop and implement diverse programming and events including formal dinner menus, engagement in cooperation Residence Life and Housing, Orientation and Enrollment etc.
  • Ensure the regular meetings with caterers/operators are held for service reviews.
  • In cooperation with the caterer/operator HR department, to ensure accountability and timely implementation of employee feedback when necessary.
  • Develop and implement sustainability efforts to include sustainable food purchasing, compost, recycling, and the reduction of waste in conjunction with the Sustainability Office of the university.
  • Assist with special dietary needs of students in cooperation with the caterer/ operator, nutritionist etc where applicable.
  • Implements changes in response to feedback and assessments.
  • Represent the department on university or community committees as needed.
  • Manage the Hostel Dining App system to ensure system is operating well.
  • Embark on improvement initiatives such as project on the Dining Apps.
Retail Dining Services
  • Work together with the retail dining team to ensure that food hygiene standards and compliances are adhered to and ensure all the outlets are regularly inspected to maintain high hygiene standards and complete micro-biological testing as per schedule when needed.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Hospitality or F&B Management with at least 2 year working experience or Diploma with more than 3 years of relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience - in similar position with F&B operations facilities such as major food courts, retail F&B outlets, medical facilities, army camps, boarding schools, airline catering preferred
  • Experienced in Food Safety Management System and Halal certification.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and tech savvy to manage Mobile Apps.
  • Ability to prepare contracts, proposal & approval papers to top Management.
  • Innovative and creative in menu planning with good knowledge of dietary and nutritional requirements.
  • A good team player who is passionate, proactive, meticulous and responsible with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to think out of the box with great problem solving skills and is resourceful.
Tenure: 2 years contract
